Magic Edit is a Chrome extension developed by Your Store Wizards that streamlines eCommerce store management by bringing quick-edit functionality directly to your storefront. Instead of navigating through multiple admin panels or remembering complex URLs, Magic Edit detects which platform you're using and provides one-click access to editing tools, admin sections, and testing utilities.

How It Works

Simply browse your live storefront or admin panel as usual. Magic Edit automatically detects which eCommerce platform you're on (Shopify, BigCommerce, WordPress, or Turbify) and displays a platform badge on the extension icon. From there, you gain instant access to:

• Edit buttons for the specific page you're viewing
• Quick navigation to common admin sections
• Content creation shortcuts for products, collections, blog posts, and more

Step 1: Install the Magic Edition for Google Chrome extension from the Google Chrome Store by clicking on Add to Chrome.

Step 2: Confirm you want to install the extension by clicking Add extension.

Step 3: Once installed, Magic Edit will be available from the Chrome browser bar where other extensions are located.

Step 4: We recommend "pinning" Magic Edit so it's always available for easy access.  Simply click the plugin icon in the browser, located Magic Edit and select the pin.

Multi-Storefront Support

Magic Edit fully supports BigCommerce's multi-storefront feature (Channels > Scripts). For optimal functionality on your live storefronts, you'll need to install the Magic Edit helper script via BigCommerce Script Manager.

How to Install the Script

1. Log in to your BigCommerce admin
2. Navigate to Channels > Scripts
3. Click Create Script
4. Copy the multi-storefront script snippet provided in Magic Edit Settings
5. Paste the script into BigCommerce Script Manager
6. Save and activate

This script enables Magic Edit to:

• Detect what type of page you're viewing (product, category, blog, etc.)
• Capture the correct page ID for editing
• Identify the correct sales channel/storefront
• Provide accurate Edit and Jump To functionality across multiple storefronts

Single-Storefront Setup — If you're using a single storefront, a simpler script version is available in Settings with the same installation process.

Getting Started
