🔧 Quick Info: Bulk Pricing Updater lets you create, update, or remove product-level bulk pricing tiers in BigCommerce by importing a CSV or Excel file. Upload your spreadsheet, map the required fields, and the tool applies the quantity-break pricing rules to your products.

What It Does

Bulk Pricing Updater changes the bulk pricing tiers attached directly to your products in BigCommerce. These are the quantity discounts commonly used for offers such as buying 10 or more units at a lower price.

Instead of opening products individually and editing each pricing tier by hand, you upload a spreadsheet containing the SKU, minimum quantity, discount type, and amount. The tool reads your file, matches each SKU to an existing BigCommerce product, and creates or updates the product’s bulk pricing rules to match your spreadsheet.

Product Bulk Pricing vs. Price List Bulk Pricing: This tool changes the quantity-based pricing tiers stored directly on the product. If you manage quantity discounts inside a BigCommerce Price List for customer groups, use the Price List Bulk Pricing Updater instead.

How to Use It

1 Open the Tool

Open the Bulk Pricing Updater tool from your Your Store Wizards dashboard for your BigCommerce store.

2 Upload Your Bulk Pricing File

On the Upload Bulk Pricing step, upload your CSV or Excel file. You can also import a file from a URL. The tool reads the first row of your file to identify the available column headings.

4 Confirm Email Delivery

Confirm or change the email address that should receive the completion notification. You can also turn email delivery off if you don’t want a notification.

5 Submit the File

Submit the import. The tool processes the file as a background job, so you can close the page while it runs. When the process is complete, you’ll receive an email containing the results, including any rows that could not be processed.

File and Field Reference

Map your spreadsheet columns to the fields below. All four fields are required.

Column Required? Notes
SKU Yes The product SKU. It must already exist in BigCommerce. SKU matching is case-insensitive.
Min Qty Yes A whole number representing the minimum quantity at which the pricing tier begins. You do not need to provide a maximum quantity. The tool calculates it automatically from the next tier’s Min Qty.
Type Yes Determines how the Amount is applied. Enter price for a set price, percent for a percentage discount, or fixed for a fixed amount discount.
Amount Yes The value used for the pricing tier. Currency symbols such as $ and £, along with commas and spaces, are removed automatically. Enter delete to remove the tier instead of creating or updating it.

How Rows Combine: Multiple rows containing the same SKU are combined to create that product’s complete set of bulk pricing tiers. The tiers are ordered by Min Qty. The tool compares the tiers in your file with the tiers currently stored in BigCommerce, removes tiers that no longer match, and creates or updates the remaining tiers.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

SKU not found in BigCommerce

The SKU in the file doesn’t exist in your BigCommerce store, so the row was skipped. Check the SKU for typing errors or create the product in BigCommerce before running the import again.

Nothing changed for some products

If the pricing tiers in your spreadsheet already match the tiers stored in BigCommerce, the tool has nothing to update.

How do I remove a pricing tier?

Enter delete in the Amount column for the tier you want to remove.

I didn’t receive an email

Check your spam or junk folder and confirm that the correct recipient was entered on the Email Delivery step. You can also review the completed run in the tool’s History.
