🔧 Quick Info: This tool exports your BigCommerce product variants to a spreadsheet. Filter by product, SKU, or variant ID, pick your columns, and download a CSV or Excel file with all the variant data you need.

What It Does

Export Product Variants pulls your BigCommerce variants into a downloadable spreadsheet. Use simple filters to narrow down which variants you want – by Product ID, Product SKU, Variant SKU, UPC, or Variant ID – pick exactly which fields (columns) you want to include, and choose between CSV or Excel format. When the export is ready, you’ll get an email with a download link. If you don’t use any filters, all your variants get exported.

When Should You Use This?

Use this tool whenever you need variant data in a spreadsheet. Common uses include creating a spreadsheet for review, reporting, or backup purposes, gathering variant data (SKUs, pricing, stock, identifiers) to prepare for a bulk update, or exporting just a subset of variants like those for specific products or SKUs.

Before You Get Started

How to Use It

1 Open the Tool

Navigate to the Export Product Variants tool in your Your Store Wizards dashboard for your BigCommerce store.

2 Choose Your Variants (Optional Filters)

On the Select Product step, use filters to narrow down which variants get exported. Leave everything blank to export all variants, or enter values for any of these filters:

  • Product ID – Export all variants belonging to specific product IDs.
  • Product SKU – Export all variants belonging to specific product SKUs.
  • Variant SKU – Export only specific variant SKUs.
  • UPC – Export only variants with specific UPCs.
  • Variant ID – Export only specific variant IDs.

Tip: You can enter multiple values in any field by separating them with commas. Only one filter is applied at a time, so pick the field that matches what you have available.

3 Configure Your Export

On the Export Variants step, set up your file:

  • Filename – Enter a name for your export file.
  • File Format – Choose between CSV or Excel format.
  • Fields to Include – Check the boxes next to the columns you want in your export. Only the fields you select will be included.

4 Confirm Email Address

Continue to the Email step and confirm the address where you want the download link sent.

5 Start the Export

Submit and the export runs in the background. When it’s ready, you’ll receive an email with a link to download your file.

Troubleshooting

My export has more rows than expected

If you leave all filters blank, every variant in your store gets exported. Add a filter on the Select Product step to narrow down the results to what you actually need.

My filter returned nothing

Double-check that the values you entered match what’s actually in your store, and make sure they’re separated by commas if you’re using multiple values. Remember that only one filter is applied at a time, so pick the field that matches the type of data you have (for example, Variant SKU vs. Product SKU).

Where’s my file?

When the export finishes, you’re emailed a link to download it. Check the email address you confirmed on the Email step. The link will be in that email with your file ready to download.

Which columns will I get?

Only the fields you check on the Export Variants step are included in your file. If you want different columns, you can run another export and select different fields.
