Missing Images Finder for Shopify

🔧 Quick Info: Product Missing Images Finder scans your Shopify catalog for products or variants that do not have an image. It creates a downloadable CSV or Excel report containing the affected items and the fields you choose.

What It Does

Product Missing Images Finder scans your Shopify catalog and identifies products or individual variants that do not have an image.

You choose whether to scan at the product level or variant level, select which items should be checked, and choose the columns that should appear in the completed report.

  • Products – Finds products that do not have a main or featured image.
  • Variants – Finds individual variants that do not have an image assigned to them.

Product vs. Variant Images: A product can have a main image while one or more of its variants still lack their own image. Running both report types provides the most complete catalog check.

The scan runs as a background job, so you do not need to keep the page open. When it finishes, the report is available to download and can also be delivered by email.

When Should You Use This?

  • Before publishing or advertising a new product catalog.
  • Before submitting products to Google Shopping or another marketplace feed.
  • After a product import or store migration.
  • After a large image upload or catalog update.
  • When customers are finding products without photos.
  • When some sizes, colors, or other variants do not display the correct image.
  • As part of a regular Shopify catalog health check.

Before You Get Started

  • Make sure your Shopify store is connected.
  • Decide whether to scan Products or Variants.
  • Decide whether to scan the complete catalog or a filtered group.
  • Choose the fields you want included in the report.
  • Decide whether you want a CSV or Excel file.
  • Have an email address ready if you want a completion notification.

Report Only: Product Missing Images Finder identifies items without images but does not upload or assign images. Use the report to correct the affected products or variants in Shopify.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

My report is empty

An empty report means every product or variant matching your selection already has an image.

If you expected results, widen the filters or switch between Products and Variants.

Should I choose Products or Variants?

Choose Products to find product listings without a main or featured image.

Choose Variants to find individual sizes, colors, or other variants without their own assigned image.

I did not receive the email

Check your spam or junk folder and confirm that the email address was entered correctly.

Also confirm that Email Delivery was set to Yes. The report can still be downloaded directly from the tool after it finishes.

The export is taking a long time

Large catalogs and broad searches take longer to process.

The report runs in the background, so you can close the page and return later or wait for the notification email.

The report columns changed when I switched the export type

This is expected. Products and Variants have different available report fields.

Changing the export type resets the selected fields, so review the field selections before starting the export.

A product has an image, but one of its variants appears in the report

A product-level image does not necessarily mean every variant has its own assigned image.

Open the variant in Shopify and assign the appropriate image if it should display a specific size, color, or style.

Does the tool upload missing images?

No. The tool creates a report only. Use Shopify or an image-upload tool to add and assign the missing images.
