Product Missing Images Finder for BigCommerce

🔧 Quick Info: Product Missing Images Finder scans your BigCommerce catalog and exports products or variants that do not have an image. You can filter the scan, select the fields to include, and download the results as a CSV or Excel file.

What It Does

Product Missing Images Finder scans your BigCommerce catalog for products or variants that do not have an assigned image.

You choose whether to scan products or variants, optionally narrow the scan using filters, select which fields should appear in the report, and choose either CSV or Excel as the file format.

The completed file includes only the items missing images:

  • Products whose product image list is empty.
  • Variants that do not have a variant image assigned.

Missing Items Only: Products and variants that already have images are not included in the exported file.

The export runs as a background job, so you can close the page while it processes. When the file is ready, the tool notifies you and makes it available for download.

When Should You Use This?

  • Decide whether to scan the complete catalog or use filters to narrow the results.
  • Choose which product or variant fields you want included in the exported file.

  • Variant SKU – Enter one or more comma-separated variant SKUs to scan only those variants.

5 Validate the Filters

Continue from the selection step. The tool performs a quick check to confirm that your selected filters match products or variants in the store.

If no matching data is found, the tool stops before starting the background export so you can adjust the filters.

6 Enter the Filename

On the Export Options step, review or change the filename. A default filename containing the current date is filled in automatically.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

No data was found for the selected filters

The selected filters did not match any products or variants in your store. Clear or loosen the filters and try again.

Leave all filters blank to scan every product or variant.

My export is empty

An empty export usually means every product or variant matching your filters already has an image.

If you expected missing items, widen or clear the filters and run the export again.

I switched between Products and Variants and my field selection changed

This is expected. Products and variants offer different export fields, so the field checklist resets when the Export Type changes. SKU is selected by default for the newly selected type.

A product has an image, but its variant appears in the report

Product images and variant images are separate. A product can have one or more product images while an individual variant still has no variant-specific image assigned.

My large catalog is taking a while

Large product and variant catalogs can take longer to scan. The export continues as a background job, so you do not need to keep the page open.

Where is my export?

The export runs in the background. When it is complete, you’ll receive a notification if email delivery was enabled and can download the finished file.
