Before You Get Started
- Use Google Chrome or another Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome extensions.
- Install Magic Edit from the Chrome Web Store.
- Make sure you’re signed in to your store’s administration area when using edit shortcuts.
- Pin the Magic Edit icon to your browser toolbar for easy access.
Pin the Extension: Select Chrome’s puzzle-piece Extensions icon, find Magic Edit, and choose the pin icon. The Magic Edit button will then remain visible in your browser toolbar.
How to Install It
1 Open the Chrome Web Store Listing
Open the Magic Edit Chrome Web Store page.
2 Add Magic Edit to Chrome
Select Add to Chrome and approve the installation when Chrome asks for confirmation.
3 Pin the Extension
Select the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the Chrome toolbar.
Find Magic Edit in the list and select the pin icon so the extension remains visible in the toolbar.
How to Use It
1 Open a Storefront Page
Browse to a page on your own storefront, such as a product, category, collection, content page, blog post, or order-related page supported by your platform.
2 Open Magic Edit
Select the Magic Edit icon in your Chrome toolbar.
3 Choose a Shortcut
Select the action you want to perform. The available shortcuts are based on the platform and the type of page currently open.
For example, a product page may display an option to edit that product, while a blog post may display a shortcut to edit the post.

Platform and Page Detection: The exact menu options depend on the site and page you’re viewing. A shortcut appears only when Magic Edit can identify a supported action for that page.

Does Magic Edit work with my store?
Magic Edit supports Shopify, BigCommerce, Turbify, and WordPress. On unsupported sites, the store-specific editing shortcuts do not apply.
Is Magic Edit part of my YourStoreTools subscription?
No. It is a standalone Chrome extension that works independently from the YourStoreTools dashboard and subscription plans.
I installed Magic Edit, but I cannot see the icon
Select Chrome’s puzzle-piece Extensions icon, find Magic Edit, and select the pin icon. This keeps the extension visible in the browser toolbar.
The edit shortcut does not appear
Make sure the current page belongs to a supported platform and is a page type Magic Edit can identify.
Also confirm that you’re viewing the public storefront page rather than an unsupported preview or third-party page.
The edit screen asks me to sign in
Magic Edit does not bypass your platform’s administration security. Sign in to your store’s admin account and make sure your user has permission to edit the item.
A shortcut opens the wrong store
Check which administration account and store are currently open in your browser. If you manage several stores, sign in to the correct store before using the shortcut again.
The performance check gives different results each time
Performance-test results can vary because of network conditions, server response times, browser conditions, and differences in the testing environment. Look for consistent patterns rather than expecting every test to return the same score.
